1200 grams mono-chloracetic acid were mixed with 450 grams S2Cl2 and 2 grams iron filings, and chlorine passed in at a temperature of 50°- 60° C. When 2 lbs. 3 oz. (1105.6 g) chlorine had been absorbed, 100 grams more S2Cl2 were added, and 7 oz. (198.5 g) more chlorine.
The reaction product upon fractionation gave 1180 grams chloracetyl chloride, ClCHCOCl, and 213 grams lower boiling material containing only 1 per cent. SO2Cl2.
Yield 82 per cent. based upon chloracetic acid taken.

So if you want to see benzos you anyway need to get somehow chloroacetyl chloride.
The most accessible route is via monochloroacetic acid.
You also need Sulfur and TCCA or other chlorine source.
First step is to make crude S2Cl2. There are some good videos on youtube about it.

No need to bother with purifying it from SCl2 as it will be produced in later step anyway.
The second (and the last) step is to produce chloroacetyl chloride by combining all shit together and bubbling additional Cl2 via rxn mixture (with some catalytic amount of iron):
