It is for small deliveries, I think it is safer than in person and a dead drop

There's so many tutorial on making DIY drones with open source firmware. Safer and cheaper!

A former collaborator had a drone, similar to the DJi, with a 3D printed support, with that drone he delivered orders.

Considering the fact that likely your drone will not be for a one-flight mission, and that buzzing sound make additional attention from anyone around,
I doubt that for now it is more safe method than old school dead drops.
