was recently thinking about parallels between drug users and proponents of the health at every size (haes) movement. admittedly i like the former much more than the latter. lowkey i always felt like fat people did it to themselves and its their fault. why would they put themselves thru something that harms their health? its not like they dont know. then it hit me... drug users (myself included) do the exact same thing lol. some to a much worse extent than the average plus size person. i just think its kinda funny how similar they are...

i dislike both drug users who glorify their use/act like its totally healthy and fat people who act like theres nothing wrong with their lifestyle. its okay to do both those things as long as you acknowledge and manage the risks that come with it. if you have no concern for your health thats fine, but you have to admit to it. you cant gaslight everyone else into thinking its normal. maybe a lot of people do it, and thats fine too, but its not what we were made for and its so fucked up to rope other people into living like that

i dont mean to fatshame or tell anyone to stop using. i will continue to do drugs but at least i know it isnt good for me. most people on the forum know that as well, thank god, but ive met people who legitimately think it doesnt cause them any harm and it irritates me a lot. i dont like stupid people ^^;

We all have our vices (food, drugs, etc) Vices are fun! But we all need to remember they come with a cost. Indulgence in anything isnt great.

That being said a little mental drug vacation from time to time does my heart good

miner21Indeed. Moderation is the fine line to be walked. I rarely practice it and freely admit to doing whatever I want out of a recklessness. Harm reduction and responsibility go a long way. Not every shoe is going to fit, do what works for you. Anyone who thinks they have 'THE ANSWER' for someones personal problems, I think is rather vain, then again, how do you discipline an out of control child?
I think, just be the best you that you can be, whatever that is. It's your role to play and you've only got one performance.
