breathing.fireThe alcohols have to be of good quality to fit. IPA is the most readily available. Methyl and ethyl should also work, but they are harder to find the right quality.

karate.kidAlkali can be used during amination to release methylamine from methylamine hydrobromide, it is important to use alkali in a deficient state.
This will give you methylamine savings.
Alkali contributes to the occurrence of side reactions, it should not be in a free form in the reaction.
